Up to my elbows…

…in gesso.

In all the years I’ve never had the need for gesso.  Until now.  Today, when I have a screaming headache and my head feels like it’s stuffed with upholstery foam and it’s 30 degrees outside, I need gesso.  Go figure.

I’ve tried everything else to try to cover up some stains on a flea market score I found a couple weeks ago, but nothing I have here at the house has worked.   So I bundled up Kid #3 in a sturdy winter coat and the adorable fleece four-tassled hat he will soon be too big to wear, and off we went to Hobby Lobby.

I came home with a can of Krylon’s spray gesso.gessosprayLooks to work the same way, and dries in 2 hours instead of 24.  Essential speed for this project, since this glitch has seriously mucked up my time schedule.   I hope it works.   I have the first few coats drying, need to touch up some missed spots, and then cover the other side.   I’m hoping to be ready to go again by tonight.   There’s major detail in this one, so I’ll be fighting to catch up.

Wish me luck!  I’ll let you know if it works!

Until next time…
