Fun Fact Friday!

July 11, 2008

Yes, it’s back!

This Fun Fact Friday is brought to you today by the letter G. In keeping with the crafty nature of my week, here are 3 fun facts about the stuff that makes all my stuff stick together–GLUE.

  • Super Glue was initially rejected for being “too adhesive and sticky.” It took 16 years to become commercially available.
  • The amount of glue on each United States Postal Service stamp is less than one-tenth of a calorie. Fantastic! Now I don’t have to feel guilty for eating them all. (Kidding! Totally kidding!)
  • The wonderful stuff that holds your style in place, hairspray, is made from Cellulose. And it washes out with water. Who would have thought that the cell walls of plants could help keep this in place.

(How often do you think these folks look back and laugh?)

So there you have it. The adhesive edition of Fun Fact Friday. I’m off to use some of it to finish up more show projects before I leave on Tuesday. That is, as soon as I finish peeling the sheets of glue off my fingertips.

Until next time…
C.
